Insecurity Grips Panama
(Prensa Latina) Problems related to insecurity focus Friday the Panamanian security, above issues like the high cost of life, unemployment and poverty, specialized sources reported.
According to a survey carried out to 1,250 people, about 44.1 percent of them mentioned that crime, violence and security are the main issue in the country.
Following are inflation (25.4 percent), unemployment (10.7 percent), poverty (6.5 percent), bad state of economy (5.6 percent), and corruption (2.6 percent).
These results are part of periodic evaluations the entity carries out for the May general elections.
Balbina Herrera, from the Democratic Revolutionary Party, and Ricardo Martinelli, from the opposition Alliance for Change, are worry for insecurity in their electoral proposals.
