Cold Front Dumping Heavy Rain on Panama

newsnviews2.jpg(panama-guide.com) Panama's National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) issued an alert yesterday to warn of continuing heavy rains along Panama's Caribbean coast. Areas affected range from the islands of the Kuna Yala, Portobelo, Colon (city) as well as the entire province of Colon, Cocle del Norte, the islands of Bocas del Toro, northern Veraguas province, as well as Chiriqui and the areas near Boquete. Two cold fronts are converging in the Caribbean causing disturbances in weather patterns, resulting in unusually heavy rains for the dry season, strong winds, and higher than normal tides and wave action. SINAPROC issues their standard warnings about crossing flooded streams or rivers and how to cope with an emergency. Fifteen vehicles were briefly stranded between two landslides on the road from David to Bocas del Toro but the road has since been cleared.
