Panama among World's Top Destinations
(plenglish.com) Panama is among the world's top ten tourist destinations to be visited in 2009, according to the ranking published on the website of Budget Travel.
Panama's Tourism Authority (ATP) said the publication acknowledged that the country is a fast-growing destination in Central and South America, reporting increased profits of 20 and 30 percent in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
It noted that Panama has many animal species and a large area of protected reserves inhabited by endangered macaws, monkeys and birds.
Budget Travel also published reports, relevant activities and useful information for those interested in traveling to each of the chosen destinations.
In Latin America, only Mexico and Panama made Budget Travel's top-ten list, which also includes Austin, Berlin, Budapest, Cambodia, Hawaii, Reykjavik, Vancouver and Washington D.C.
